Professional spline-based, cad-accurate 3D modeling
MacroModel is the most comprehensive 3D modeling program for the Macintosh, allowing you to intuitively create 3D models from 2D reference objects with a click of the mouse. Its powerful features and intuitive interface simplify the most complex model-making with familiar tools that deliver the high performance you need. MacroModel╒s wide range of capabilities makes it suitable for creating 3D illustrations for desktop publishing and CAD-accurate product prototyping, as well as for the everyday needs of multimedia production artists.
BINARY COMPATIBLE
MacroModel supports nearly identical modeling environments on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. And because files are binary compatible, they can be exchanged transparently between platforms╤models created on the Macintosh can be opened and edited on Windows, and models created on Windows can be opened and edited on the Macintosh.
EASE OF USE
MacroModel incorporates conventions found in many popular illustration and CAD programs. Three-dimensional models begin as simple 2D objects or imported EPSF files, which are extruded, lathed, swept, and skinned to create complex rendered 3D models.
CAD ACCURACY
Precise as any CAD application available, MacroModel is accurate to the sixth decimal place. Use it to create CAD-accurate objects in 3D space and to manipulate the objects╒ points interactively or numerically. MacroModel╒s advanced 3D snapping features let you place points and objects exactly, for precise placement at vertexes and approximate placement on curved surfaces.
REAL-TIME FEEDBACK
All objects in MacroModel are built relative to each other in 3D space rather than in separate design windows. Fast, intuitive viewing options let you see your models from any angle while you work.
REAL-TIME RENDERING
MacroModel╒s fast rendering lets you design, edit, and manipulate models in a variety of rendering modes, including smooth shading, so you can see a realistic representation of your model as you work.
AN INTEGRAL PART OF YOUR SOFTWARE LIBRARY
Because MacroModel imports and exports so many common file formats, such as Swivel 3D Pro and DXF, you can use models in other high-end animation and rendering programs, including Macromedia Three-D, PIXAR╒s MacRenderMan, and ElectricImage Animation System.
